  • The goal of your thesis is to develop a method using atomic layer deposition (ALD) to passivate the interface between the perovskite absorber and the electron contact in perovskite solar cells.
  • You will develop the process for depositing the Al O and TiO layer system on our ALD system (FlexAL).
  • You will prepare the appropriate test substrates.
  • You will measure the optical, structural, and electrical properties of the layers using ellipsometry, UV-vis spectroscopy, and IV measurements.
  • You will integrate the developed layers into perovskite solar cells and analyze their functionality within the device.
  • You will analyze and present the results.

What you contribute, * Exclusive insights: By working together with the scientists in our department, you will gain insights into the day-to-day research and development work at a research institute.

  • Laboratory infrastructure: At Fraunhofer ISE, we work with state-of-the-art equipment and devices so that research projects can be carried out using the latest technology. (Achtung: nur nutzen, wenn die Stelle Laborbezug hat!)
  • Research mix: You will have the opportunity to combine experimental work with theory, thus applying and expanding the knowledge you gained during your studies.
  • Supervision: You will be supervised by scientists during your work and receive feedback on your progress.
  • Teamwork: You will gain experience in working in a team with our scientific and student staff and can contribute the experience you have already gained.

Requirements

  • You are studying a science or technology-related field, such as microsystems engineering, physics, or a comparable discipline.
  • You plan and complete tasks independently, to a high standard, and enjoy carrying them out.
  • You are proficient in using MS Office.
  • You have already successfully demonstrated your excellent written and spoken German and English skills., In addition to the thesis, a contract as a research assistant will be established. The remuneration for this is based on the degree of the academic qualification.
