Job description

to promote their own academic qualifications within the meaning of § 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) as soon as possible.

The Nanotechnology Research Group conducts interdisciplinary research in the field of localized deposition from a molecular flux. To achieve localized molecular depositions, a pre-cursor material is evaporated and transported by a gas flow and guided by electrical fields. Global and local fields, gas mixture, and concentrations play a crucial role in this process. Furthermore, specialized reactor systems are required for the depositions during the process. For our experimental research projects, we are seeking dedicated scientists to join us as soon as possible to enable the localized deposition from a molecular flux.

The goal is to secure a postdoctoral position following the completion of the doctoral program.

Your tasks

The position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Design, construction, and test run of new (previously non-existent) physical experimental setups (custom build) that enable the fabrication of localized deposited materials from a molecular flux.
  • Exploration of new physical/chemical deposition methods
  • Assistance with project proposals/documentation and final reports.
  • Analysis and publication of scientific results in international journals.

Requirements

Do you have a Master’s degree?, A completed degree (M.Sc., M.Eng., Dipl.-Ing., or equivalent) in electrical engineering, material science, chemistry, micro/nanotechnology, or a related field is required.

Following competences are desirable:

  • Experience with plasma processes, surface modification, micro/nanotechnology, packaging/backend technology, lithography, materials analysis, and SEM. Please highlight these qualifications in your application.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills (Level B2) round up your profile.

Benefits & conditions

  • attractive remuneration according to collective agreement (as per TV-L) incl. granting of a special annual payment
