Job description

  • Build and deliver enterprise-scale applications using Kotlin and modern JVM technologies.
  • Help shape technical solutions, architecture decisions and engineering standards across projects.
  • Develop scalable microservices and APIs that support critical digital services.
  • Work within multidisciplinary agile teams alongside Product Managers, Designers, Analysts and Engineers.
  • Drive engineering best practice across testing, automation, deployment and software quality.
  • Contribute to cloud-native solutions deployed across modern public cloud environments.
  • Support and mentor other developers, helping to grow technical capability within the wider team.
  • Play a key role in delivering user-focused software that balances performance, security and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications with Kotlin.
  • Excellent knowledge of Java and the wider JVM ecosystem.
  • Experience building backend solutions using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API development.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Exposure to containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing and Agile delivery.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of frontend technologies such as TypeScript or Node.js.
  • Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes.
