Job description

Expleo is seeking an experienced Verification and VectorCAST Lead to provide technical leadership for all software verification activities associated with a DAL D to DAL A software assurance uplift programme. The role is responsible for defining the verification strategy, establishing the requirements-based testing approach, leading VectorCAST execution activities and driving MC/DC coverage closure to support DAL A compliance objectives. Working closely with Requirements Engineers, Software Design Engineers, Certification Leads and QA personnel, the Verification Lead will ensure verification activities are planned, executed and evidenced in accordance with customer standards and certification requirements. The RFQ identifies verification, VectorCAST execution, structural coverage analysis, formal test execution and verification evidence generation as critical programme workstreams. This role is based full-time on-site, working directly alongside customer engineering and assurance teams throughout programme execution. Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the overall software verification strategy.
  • Develop verification plans aligned to certification and programme objectives.
  • Lead development of test objectives, test cases and verification procedures.
  • Establish and govern requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Define and manage the VectorCAST verification environment.
  • Lead structural coverage analysis activities including MC/DC assessment and closure.
  • Coordinate dry-run and formal verification execution activities.
  • Review verification evidence and ensure compliance with programme standards.
  • Support development of Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM).
  • Lead verification defect triage and resolution activities.
  • Support verification readiness reviews and formal entry/exit criteria assessments.
  • Coordinate hardware-based verification activities using customer-provided evaluation environments.
  • Provide verification metrics, reporting and risk assessments to programme leadership.
  • Interface with customer stakeholders on verification progress and evidence status., + Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Verification, software test or systems assurance training desirable.
  • Formal DO-178C verification training advantageous.

Essential skills:

  • Software verification and validation within regulated development environments.
  • Requirements-based testing techniques.
  • VectorCAST or equivalent automated test and coverage tools.
  • Structural coverage analysis including MC/DC coverage principles.
  • Test planning, execution and verification evidence generation.
  • Defect investigation, triage and resolution management.
  • Requirements traceability and verification compliance management.
  • Formal review and approval processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.

Desired skills:

  • DO-178C verification lifecycle experience.
  • DAL A or DAL B software assurance experience.
  • VectorCAST certification package experience.
  • Evaluation board, hardware-in-the-loop or embedded target testing.
  • Oscilloscope and physical I/O verification techniques.
  • STM32 microcontroller experience.
  • Aerospace, avionics or defence software experience.
  • Experience supporting formal certification evidence reviews.
  • Knowledge of Polarion, configuration management and traceability tooling.

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience leading verification activities for embedded software systems.
  • Experience delivering formal verification evidence within regulated or safety-critical environments.
  • Experience planning and executing structural coverage closure activities.
  • Experience supporting software qualification, assurance or certification programmes.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams including requirements, software and certification specialists.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing verification reviews and acceptance activities.
