Job description
We are looking for a talented Governance Assistant to join our Governance team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality services to Board members and senior management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has excellent communication skills, is focused on continuous improvement of services, and enjoys delivering detailed requirements with a high level of accuracy.
The role involves supporting the Governance team to deliver company secretarial services and Board secretariat services across Wheatley; and supporting the delivery of high standards of governance and compliance with best practice and statutory requirements.
The Governance team works in a fast-paced environment with a complex Board and Committee structure and multiple regulators, offering a unique opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience of a Governance function.
Requirements
We’re looking for a talented individual who can contribute ideas, has an eye for detail, and who is keen to support colleagues and Board members in delivering better services for our communities and customers. You’ll have experience of:
- focusing on details to confirm your work is accurate and complies with legal requirements;
- working in a busy environment, balancing workloads and working with others to achieve priorities and objectives;
- organising and supporting meetings, including drafting minutes and distributing relevant meeting materials;
- communicating information clearly and effectively to staff, customers and other stakeholders; and
- using Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Board Portals.
You’ll also be collaborative, innovative and driven to deliver excellent outcomes, while building strong relationships and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
Knowledge of the social housing sector and experience of working in a company secretarial team would be advantageous.
