Job description

The ERP Support Analyst will provide functional and technical support for the organisation’s Enterprise Resource Planning system, ensuring users can work effectively and business processes run smoothly. The role will involve troubleshooting issues, maintaining data accuracy, supporting system changes, producing reports, and working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to improve ERP performance and usability., * Provide first and second-line support to ERP users, resolving functional and technical issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Investigate, diagnose, and document ERP incidents.
  • Escalate complex issues to third-party suppliers where necessary and manage these through to resolution.
  • Support day-to-day ERP system administration, including user access, roles, permissions, configuration changes, and system monitoring.
  • Work with finance, production, purchasing, sales, warehouse, and other business teams to understand process issues and recommend practical system improvements.
  • Assist with ERP upgrades, patches, testing, release management, and change control activities.
  • Create, maintain, and improve ERP documentation, user guides, training materials, and support knowledge base articles.
  • Deliver user training and guidance to improve adoption, accuracy, and confidence in the ERP system.
  • Maintain data integrity by supporting data checks, corrections, imports, exports, and housekeeping activities.
  • Develop or assist with standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and data extracts for business users and management.
  • Support integrations between the ERP system and other business applications, helping to identify and resolve interface issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects that streamline processes, reduce manual work, and improve system reliability.
  • Promote best practice and consistent use of the ERP system., * Experience supporting an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics, Intact iQ/GenetiQ, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage, Epicor, Infor, or a similar platform.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyse issues, identify root causes, and explain solutions clearly to non-technical users.
  • Good understanding of core business processes such as finance, purchasing, stock control, order processing, manufacturing, distribution, or reporting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work confidently with users at all levels.
  • Experience logging, prioritising, and managing support tickets through to resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with data, configuration, reports, and process documentation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of an IT team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, or data analysis would be advantageous.

Desirable.

  • Experience with ERP implementation, migration, upgrade, or optimisation projects.
  • Knowledge of database concepts, APIs, integrations, or middleware.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles, service desk processes, change management, and incident management.
  • Experience working with external ERP vendors, consultants, or managed service providers.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant ERP, database, reporting, Microsoft, ITIL, or vendor certifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
