Job description

The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s physical and virtual servers, operating systems, applications, and core IT infrastructure. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for applications including AD Audit, AD Self Service, CourseArc, Deep Freeze, Dentrix, testing software (e.g., PearsonVUE and NetSupport), Remote Desktop Services, and Active Directory file services. The position also provides secondary support for systems such as Alertus, UPS infrastructure, surveillance and access control systems, Dynamic Forms Exchange, SFTP, Proxsafe, Microsoft SQL, Tanium, StaffMap, CrowdStrike, and Veeam Backup and Replication., 35% - Server, Systems, and Infrastructure Administration: Maintains and supports physical and virtual servers, operating systems, applications, and core IT infrastructure. Perform updates, patches, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable, secure operations. 30% - Primary Application Management & Support: Serves as the primary subject matter expert for AD Audit, AD Self Service, CourseArc, Deep Freeze, Dentrix, testing platforms (e.g., PearsonVUE, NetSupport), Remote Desktop Services, and Active Directory file services. Oversees configuration, maintenance, and issue resolution. 15% - Secondary System Administration & Support: Provides backup support for Alertus, UPS infrastructure, surveillance and access control systems, Dynamic Forms Exchange, SFTP, Proxsafe, Microsoft SQL, Tanium, StaffMap, CrowdStrike, and Veeam Backup and Replication. 10% - Security, Backup, and Compliance Support: Assists with endpoint security, backup operations, access control, and data protection across supported systems. Supports adherence to organizational security policies and best practices. 10% - Documentation & Cross-Team Collaboration: Maintains documentation for systems, applications, and procedures. Collaborates with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues, coordinates changes, and supports continuous improvement initiatives., A. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience providing technical support in the installation and/or maintenance or repair of networking infrastructure and systems., An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered., B. Two (2) or more years of experience with managing and supporting Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, and PearsonVUE. C. Experience administering SQL, Tanium, and Crowdstrike. D. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and system issues across server, application, and security layers. E. Proven ability to create and maintain system documentation, collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, and support escalated issues with clarity and professionalism. F. One (1) year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years.

Special Working Conditions

Sedentary Work - Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Working Conditions - Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment. Positions in this class typically require: fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.

Work Schedule - Work Schedule Varies. May be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call assignment required. In-person and remote work as needed.
