Job description

  • Front-End Leadership & Architecture: Design and build complex, performant, and responsive front-end applications in React, translating intricate business and spatial workflows into seamless user experiences.
  • Geospatial Integration: Work heavily with ESRI technology (ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) to build spatial data visualizers, map interfaces, and GIS workflows tailored for upstream operations.
  • Full-Stack Development: Write clean, maintainable Python code for RESTful APIs, microservices, and back-end integration services that process geospatial and operational data.
  • Domain Problem Solving: Collaborate directly with upstream engineers, geoscientists, landmen, and operational personnel to transform complex industry requirements (e.g., well planning, production tracking, lease management) into intuitive technical solutions.
  • Performance & Scalability: Optimize web applications for large spatial datasets, high-density map rendering, and real-time operational data feeds.
  • Quality & Best Practices: Promote engineering best practices, including continuous integration, unit testing, automated deployment, code reviews, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Front-End Focused) with 5+ years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of user interfaces and web application components tailored for the upstream oil & gas sector.

You will combine a deep mastery of modern front-end technologies (React) with solid back-end proficiency (Python) and extensive hands-on experience integrating ESRI geospatial tools. You will build intuitive, high-performance, and spatially aware applications that empower operational teams to analyze and visual site data, wellbores, land holdings, and subsurface information effectively., * Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a heavy concentration on front-end web development.

  • Upstream Industry Expertise: Proven experience working within the upstream oil & gas sector (e.g., exploration, production, drilling, land management, or subsurface workflows).
  • Core Front-End: Deep expertise in React.js, modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API), and responsive CSS framework/styling libraries.
  • Geospatial / GIS Expertise: Solid track record of integrating ESRI platforms and web APIs (ArcGIS JS API, ArcGIS REST API, GeoJSON, spatial analysis tools) into web applications.
  • Back-End Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience writing Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask) for API development, data processing, and integration layers.
  • Data & Databases: Comfort working with spatial databases and query languages (PostGIS, SQL, Oracle, or ESRI geodatabases).
  • Software Practices: Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and agile methodologies.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with web mapping frameworks beyond ESRI (e.g., Mapbox, Leaflet, Cesium).
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with real-time streaming data (e.g., IoT data streams for well monitoring).
  • Exposure to UI/UX design tools (Figma, Sketch) and design systems.
