Job description

The IT Applications Specialist, Operations Systems position is a lead technical role for project implementation of PLM system(s) and integration and/or enhancement of various software operating systems utilized by Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Consults with business users to define functional requirements and business process design. Performs technical analysis and software configuration tasks required to provide system functionality that fulfills business requirements. Demonstrates proficient understanding of multiple functional modules and applications for assigned system software across a wide variety of user activities., * Sole technical lead for project implementation of major enterprise system (PTC Windchill) to include requirements gathering and documentation, software configuration, development, and software modification as needed. Accountable for software testing, documenting test cases, user training, support.

  • Serve in key technical role in various stages of system implementations, enhancement projects, and ongoing support of operational systems including CAD, PLM, MES and ERP related solutions.
  • Consult with IT and functional business users/departments for requirements gathering and definition, design, data mapping and system development/configuration.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions/initiatives to anticipate and mitigate issues and achieve required outcomes within required timeframes.
  • Work within a global team that is responsible for the functional aspects of end-user support and follow an established protocol for ticket management and timely resolution.
  • Perform system administration and maintenance duties, user support, and security access.
  • Provide support for software testing and validation efforts through the creation of test protocols, reports, and other documentation to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Work within established change control procedures to ensure proposed changes to applications and business reports are analyzed and evaluated for business impact, tested, promoted and implemented.
  • Enforce and maintain application security in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for day-to-day user support, system and database administration. Perform related monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and system analysis tasks to bring about resolution of open issues.
  • Participate in third party application integrations with the corporate ERP system.
  • Provide ad-hoc training to system users and IT staff related to business applications.
  • Support and assist IT support staff with ongoing technical tasks including routine helpdesk and other activities as required.

Requirements

  1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business or Engineering.
  2. Five (5+) years’ experience as technical lead with experience in implementing enterprise wide operations systems such as PTC Windchill as well as supporting common industry business systems and applications.
  3. General knowledge of auditable application development, data management and system security requirements within the enterprise.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with common business application concepts and software systems, specifically those related to Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain systems (CAD, PLM, MES, ERP). Knowledge of PTC Windchill a plus.
  2. Understanding of master data and the roles played by PLM, ERP, MES, etc. in support of manufacturing. Understanding of basic functions and business processes present within a manufacturing enterprise.
  3. Strong business analysis skills with proven results in a regulated environment.
  4. Knowledge of standard IT technologies such as HTML, CSS, scripting languages, application security, relational database concepts, including database management and administrative tasks, SQL query skills.
  5. Ability to research and provide solutions for system and/or application issues, troubleshoot software issues, work effectively with IT staff, technical consultants and business users.
  6. Understanding of organizational goals, objectives and business processes.
  7. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to find creative solutions to technical challenges by utilizing available toolsets.
  8. Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Detail oriented and organized.
  10. Ability to follow tasks from inception through to completion with minimal supervision.

Benefits & conditions

$106,712 - 142,282 Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than what is listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
