- Rework and Repair: Assess returned prototype units, confirm failure modes, and perform failure analysis to determine root cause.
- Execute prescribed functional tests based on reported defects and document findings.
- Disassemble units per SOPs to inspect systems related to failure symptoms and perform component or module exchanges to isolate faults.
- Prototype Assembly: Support scaled prototype assembly and disassembly, including small pre-production units.
- Develop and refine SOPs, assembly and operating instructions, and provide solution proposals and repairs.
- Partner with engineering teams through clear written documentation and live discussions to resolve issues.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair support across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
- Prototype QA: Flash, program, and calibrate prototypes or test equipment following SOPs.
- Run software scripts and basic commands via Linux, macOS, and Windows command line interfaces.
- Electrical Technician: Use electronic analysis tools for QC of electronic assemblies and perform light soldering repairs.
- Maintain thorough, consistent documentation of work performed on each unit.
Requirements
We are seeking a Hardware Technician IV to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in prototype rework and repair, electrical troubleshooting, and prototype QA, and a proven ability to diagnose failures, execute SOP-driven builds, and document results with clarity., * Ability to adapt to changing daily statements of work and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience collaborating with design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback.
- Willingness to propose and implement process improvements, including SOP development.
- Proficiency using text, photos, and videos to convey assembly processes.
- Commitment to seeking feedback for continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with electronic or consumer-electronic repair and debugging experience.
- Computer programming experience and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Past prototype or assembly line experience in small electronics or devices.
- Familiarity with OrCAD/Allegro and other EE hardware design tools.
