Data Analyst

We’re looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our growing Evaluation and Insights team for a 1 year fixed term contract.

About the role

Evaluation is at the heart of how we support innovation. Whether we’re assessing the impact of a new technology, helping services redesign care pathways, or understanding what works for patients and professionals, data and insight play a critical role.

As a Data Analyst, you will work on a diverse portfolio of projects that help demonstrate the value of innovation across health and care systems. You will transform complex data into meaningful insights, support robust evaluations, and help stakeholders understand what is working, why it is working, and where improvements can be made.

You’ll work with colleagues across UCLPartners and alongside NHS organisations, researchers, innovators and system leaders to generate evidence that drives change.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical and evaluation projects by:

• Designing and implementing robust data collection and measurement approaches
• Analysing health, administrative, survey and programme data to generate actionable insights
• Supporting evaluation projects that assess the impact of innovations and service improvements
• Developing and applying analytical methods that lead to meaningful conclusions and recommendations
• Creating engaging visualisations and dashboards that communicate findings clearly to different audiences
• Maintaining and enhancing our developing insights platform, ensuring stakeholders have access to timely and relevant information
• Working with partners to secure and manage data access in line with governance requirements
• Translating complex findings into clear, accessible reports and presentations
• Supporting a learning health system approach by continuously sharing insight to drive improvement

We’re keen to hear from people who are curious, collaborative and motivated by making a difference., * A degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative, analytical, research or data-focused discipline

• Strong analytical skills, including interpreting data, assessing limitations and drawing meaningful conclusions
• Experience working on analytical, research, evaluation or insight projects
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines
• Experience analysing structured and unstructured datasets
• Strong data visualisation and communication skills, ideally including Tableau
• Experience using analytical tools such as R, Python or similar technologies
• Knowledge of data governance, information governance and ethical standards relating to health data
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

• Experience within healthcare, research, innovation, public sector or population health settings
• Experience supporting evaluations, service improvement programmes or health and care research
• Understanding of statistical methodologies and data linkage approaches

Salary: £40,000-£52,000 per annum (depending on experience) Contract: Fixed Term Contract, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Hybrid working: Minimum 40% onsite (2 days per week)
