Job description
Join our C++ infrastructure team in Boeblingen and contribute to the modernization, refactoring and to support the transition away from a legacy component framework.
Working within a highly skilled engineering team, making use of Clang, Clang-Tidy and clangd, you will support our Software R&D organization to improve delivering high-quality, scalable and maintainable software across a very large and complex C++ codebase.
This is a highly visible role with significant impact on engineering efficiency, software quality and the long-term technical direction of our products., * Providing and continuously improving a modern, scalable and optimized build system
- Upgrading, replacing and integrating third-party libraries while driving the migration of the associated C++ codebase
- Modernizing and maintaining the C++ test framework
- Evaluating, integrating and maintaining third-party development tools within our engineering environment
- Designing, developing and maintaining custom tools that support and automate the software development process
- Coaching and training software R&D engineers on our development infrastructure, tools and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a comparable qualification from a university or university of applied sciences
- Strong experience in software design, development and testing
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Git
- Proficiency in modern C++ (current and upcoming standards)
- Experience with build systems such as Bazel and CMake
- Practical experience in making use of Clang, Clang-Tidy check and clangd
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Bash
- Experience with C++ test frameworks (e.g., CxxTest, doctest, Catch2)
- Good understanding of concurrent and multithreaded programming in C++
- Experience with IPC/RPC technologies (e.g., ZeroMQ, gRDP)
- Fluent english communication skills, both written and spoken
- Strong team player with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
