Our support and maintenance portfolio includes a variety of critical, ongoing systems-ranging from processing monthly payments through banking institutions and enhancing online services for members, to re-engineering legacy client-server applications into modern intranet web applications.
As a Production Support Java Software Developer, you will be a vital member of our dedicated Production Support Team. Instead of rigid sprint cycles, your focus will be on ensuring system uptime, diagnosing complex production issues, and deploying critical patches and enhancements. You will work closely with a team of 4-7 technical peers, led by client business and technology leaders, alongside an experienced Technical Lead who will collaborate with you to ensure team success. Our deployment pipeline, issue tracking, and support methodologies are rooted in modern DevOps concepts and managed via Atlassian Jira.
What You’‘ll Do We enable our Production Support Engineers to work across the entire application stack to troubleshoot, patch, and optimize our systems.
Our team members are full-stack generalists who dive into every tier of an application: Production Support & Incident Management: Investigate and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent fixes. Back-End Services & Database Operations: Tune SQL queries, troubleshoot APIs, optimize application performance, and ensure data integrity. Application Monitoring & Performance: Monitor application health, analyze logs, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address performance issues. Bug Fixes & Enhancements: Develop and deploy code fixes, minor enhancements, and patches for Java applications. User Interface & Controller Logic: Modify front-end views, update controller logic, and maintain application workflows as needed. Automated Testing & Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure application stability. Release & Deployment Support: Assist with production deployments, validate releases, and support rollback activities when necessary. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA, DevOps, DBAs, and business stakeholders to resolve production issues and improve application reliability. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for support procedures.

Requirements
Minimum of five years’ working experience in Information Technology Minimum of three years developing Java web applications or web services Familiar with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) / Test Driven Development (TDD), knowledge in Cucumber is a plus Familiar with all facets of the software development lifecycle; preferably with Agile Scrum Experience in systems analysis, application design, quality assurance, and the coordination of multiple enterprise systems to achieve overall system functionality is desirable Knowledge of secure software development practices and experience in software vulnerability remediation is desirable Applied knowledge of version control, configuration management, and continuous integration is desirable
