Job description

We’re hiring a Mainframe Database Systems Programmer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday., * Install, maintain, and optimize IBM Db2 for z/OS on the mainframe platform

  • Support critical business applications and enterprise database environments
  • Work with Db2 subsystem administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and migrations
  • Provide DR support, incident resolution, and data movement across environments
  • Ensure the stability, availability, and efficiency of mission-critical systems
  • Provide 24×7 production support through an on-call rotation

Requirements

Work Authorization: Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2., * Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship

  • IBM DB2 for z/OS administration/support experience
  • Experience with z/OS systems software installation and maintenance
  • SMP/E installation and maintenance knowledge
  • Experience with DB2 subsystem support, upgrades, and configuration
  • Disaster recovery (DR) experience
  • Experience with mainframe monitoring and performance tools (Broadcom products, SYSVIEW, OMEGAMON preferred)
  • Production support experience in mission-critical environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

  • Audit/compliance participation related to DB2 z/OS environments
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Experience with additional IBM/Broadcom mainframe tools, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job-related field or 4 years of job-related work experience; OR
  • 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree
