Job description
This is a newly created role established to bring formal ownership, structure, and operational maturity to the AEM and Vercel hosting platforms that support enterprise web applications. Today, neither platform has a defined service owner, documented processes, control mappings, support model, or trained staff - this role will build that foundation, standing up secure, compliant, and repeatable service offerings rather than relying on ad-hoc, individual-dependent support. Role Responsibilities
- Own the operational support, administration, and continuous improvement of the AEM and Vercel hosting platforms, including platform governance, incident management, deployment support, monitoring, and user access administration.
- Partner with development teams, product owners, architects, security teams, and external vendors to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of hosted applications.
- Provide technical consultation to teams building modern web applications using Next.js, React, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
- Support these platforms as part of a broader technology portfolio that includes Adobe Platform, AEM Sites, AEM Assets, Target, Workfront, and Akamai.
- Stand up platform support to Level 3 (Defined) maturity against the organization’s Service Maturity Model, complete required service-offering artifacts, and evidence IT General Control (ITGC) and Security Directive alignment.
- Train the existing team and establish proactive operational processes ahead of these platforms carrying production, customer-facing traffic.
Team Structure & Work Environment
- Works closely with a Product Owner and a team of 6-7 platform engineers at various experience levels, along with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams.
- Hybrid role based out of one of our digital hubs - Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Dallas, TX; Broomfield, CO; or Cary, NC. Candidates should be local to their chosen hub and available to come into the office as needed.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree required, with 5-7+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrated stability and progression in prior roles preferred.
- 5-7+ years of experience maintaining AEM platform environments.
- Demonstrated expertise supporting AEM as a Cloud Service environment and associated digital experience platforms.
- Proven ability to lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service restoration for critical business applications.
- Skilled in applying platform monitoring, observability, and automation techniques to improve service reliability.
- Strong knowledge of AEM architecture, Dispatcher/CDN configurations, cloud deployments, and enterprise integrations.
