System Administrator -UNIX EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Administer and maintain Linux servers in mission-critical environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. This position requires participation in rotating on-call
• A variety of commercial Unix and Linux platforms and distributions
• System fault troubleshooting, analysis and resolution
• System performance analysis, diagnosis and tuning
• Document system configurations, changes, and procedures
• Automate routine tasks using Bash and Python scripting and Ansible
• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Networking skills including Bonding/Teaming interfaces, diagnosing network problems
• This position requires Remote Install, Support, Monitoring and Maintenance of IT infrastructure
• Linux (Red Hat / SuSE / Oracle Enterprise Linux) and Unix
• Systems Patching and Backup/Restore
• Crash diagnosis and resolution
• Shell Scripting experience is essential, formal programming experience is a plus
• File system and logical volume management (XFS, EXT4, ZFS, LVM, etc)
• Installation and configuration of typical Linux software from both packages and source code
• System hardening, intrusion detection and prevention

Desirable Skills:

• Time Series database such as InfluxDB, TimescaleDB or QuestDB
• PostgreSQL database
• Docker
• NAS and SAN Storage Administration experience
• Virtualization technologies (VMware / Proxmox / XCP-NG, Azure, AWS)
• Systems performance tuning
• Network Management (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, IDS, NMS)
• Experience supporting Oracle RAC (ASM / Grid / etc)

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, CIS or similar discipline, or equivalent

5+ years of Systems Administration experience
