Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: The Casual Testing Assistant coordinates and administers assigned student assessments, including WIDA English language proficiency assessments, kindergarten screening, and kindergarten early entrance assessments. The employee contacts families to schedule testing, administers assessments according to established procedures, maintains confidentiality and test security, and accurately documents assessment results., * Contact parents or guardians to schedule WIDA screeners, kindergarten screenings, kindergarten early entrance assessments and other student assessments.

  • Coordinate assessment schedules with families, school staff, and appropriate district departments.
  • Administer assigned WIDA assessments in accordance with WIDA, IDOE, and district requirements.
  • Administer assessments using district-approved procedures and assessment tools.
  • Complete all training and certification required for each assessment administered.
  • Prepare the testing environment, equipment, and materials.
  • Verify student identity and provide required or approved testing accommodations.
  • Score assessments and accurately record results when required.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of student information, testing materials, and assessment results.
  • Immediately report testing irregularities, security concerns, or technology problems.
  • Return all secure testing materials after each testing session.
  • Perform other assessment-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid instructional, administrative, or school-services license issued by the Indiana Department of Education.
  • Successful completion of required WIDA certification.
  • Successful completion of annual test-security training and the Indiana Testing Security and Integrity Agreement.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed testing manuals, scripts, schedules, and security procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to maintain strict student confidentiality and test security.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to use computers, online assessment platforms, headsets, and other testing technology.
  • Successful completion of all district-required background checks and employment requirements., * Previous WIDA certification or testing experience.
  • Experience administering standardized assessments.
  • Experience working with English learners or multilingual students.
  • Experience administering assessments individually and in small groups.
  • Familiarity with WIDA AMS and the WIDA Secure Portal.
  • Experience working with students who receive testing accommodations
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred

SALARY: $30.00 per hour

BENEFITS: This position is not eligible for benefits. Non-exempt.
