Job description

The Technical Support Specialist will provide technical support for WSC IT infrastructure with emphasis on Department of Defense (DOD) equipment and software in support of the Food Service contract at Sheppard Air Force Base.

  • Support and troubleshoot food service applications including those used for procurement, point of sale (POS), and inventory & recipe management.

  • Support and troubleshoot onsite hardware including computers, printers, cash registers and various peripherals.

  • Perform required and preventive maintenance on government supplied IT equipment.

  • Track and inventory government supplied IT equipment on a specified schedule.

  • Communicate and coordinate with the 82 FSS IT Support Office and Air Force Headquarters as needed for technical and support activities.

  • Manage access and accounts for users with need to know for various DOD applications.

  • Assist with tracking and enforcing required training for users with access to various DOD applications.

  • Provide help desk support for WSC IT resources to ensure timely and effective resolution.

  • Assist with asset management and maintenance activities for WSC IT resources according to WSC policy and procedure.

  • Continuously update knowledge, skill, and understanding through collaborative & self-directed learning to adapt to the rapidly changing technology landscape and to WSC’s unique business needs., Computers, mobile devices, servers, switches, firewalls, modems, routers, various peripherals, phones, and other IT hardware & office equipment as needed., Standard workweek (Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week). Additional hours/days may be required on occasion to ensure all systems and applications are operational for mission-essential purposes.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Proficient in MS 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)., Ability to lift 50lbs., * CompTIA A+ certificate required.

  • Vaid driver’s license with certificate of insurance required.

  • Ability to pass Tier 1 NACI background check required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, or related discipline.

  • 3+ years providing L1/L2 IT support.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Any DOD IAT or IAM experience.

  • Experience with food/retail service-related software.
