Job description
The E-EFMP QA / 508 / Test Engineers collaborate with developers, product owners, UX designers, and cybersecurity teams to validate functionality, accessibility, and performance before deployments., The E-EFMP QA / 508 / Test Engineer will: Develop test plans, test cases, and scripts for manual and automated testing.

Execute functional, regression, integration, and UAT tests.

Reproduce defects, collect logs, and document root-cause details for developers.

Validate accessibility compliance using WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 standards.

Conduct cross-browser and responsive UI testing.

Test API functionality, error handling, and backend interactions.

Maintain test documentation including results, traceability matrices, and defect reports.

Contribute to automated test suites and help expand automation coverage.

Collaborate with developers and business analysts to validate acceptance criteria.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and support sprint-based testing cycles.

Provide recommendations to improve overall quality, accessibility, and testing processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, QA/Testing, or a related technical field.
Experience (Required)
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, accessibility testing, or software testing roles.

Experience performing manual and automated test execution.
-
Experience with WCAG/508 accessibility validation.
-
Experience testing web applications and APIs.
-
Experience documenting defects and test results clearly and accurately.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
-
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile testing practices.

Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 / Section 508).

Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.).

Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
-
Experience in a DoD or federal IT environment.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration for testing.

Understanding of load and performance testing tools.
Certifications
Required:
- WCAG / Section 508 Accessibility Certification
Preferred:

CompTIA Security+
-
ITIL v4 Foundation
-
Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or similar QA certifications
Skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong written communication skills for defect reporting and documentation.

High attention to detail and dedication to quality.

Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and UX teams.

Strong organization and ability to balance multiple test cycles.
