Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Controller to build and oversee our accounting operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a startup environment and wants to play a key role in building the financial foundation of a growing company.

This position reports directly to the CFO and will have significant ownership over accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, and process improvement., The Controller will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, manage accounts receivable and collections, coordinate tax preparation, and develop scalable accounting processes to support company growth., Accounting Operations

  • Own monthly accounting close process
  • Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
  • Oversee bookkeeping operations and accounting systems
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows
  • Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and reporting

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Manage customer invoicing process
  • Track outstanding receivables
  • Lead collections efforts and improve cash flow visibility
  • Partner with operations and customer-facing teams regarding billing matters

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for CFO
  • Provide analysis of revenue, expenses, cash flow, and financial trends
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Develop key financial metrics and dashboards

Tax & Compliance

  • Coordinate annual tax preparation with external CPA/tax professionals
  • Maintain required financial documentation
  • Support compliance requirements and audits as needed

Requirements

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically savvy, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a dynamic startup environment., Required:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Experience preparing financial statements and monthly reporting
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Preferred:

  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • SaaS, technology, or subscription business experience
  • Experience implementing accounting systems and processes
  • Experience working with outside tax advisors and CFOs
