Duties Description Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Enterprise Risk, Audit, & Security, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for leading the Justice Center’s information security and cybersecurity program. The CISO serves as the agency’s principal advisor on cybersecurity, information security, and technology risk management., * Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Justice Center’s information security program, including security policies, standards, and procedures
- Advise executive leadership on cybersecurity strategy, technology risk, and information security matters affecting agency operations
- Conduct enterprise information security risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
- Establish strategic priorities to strengthen the agency’s cybersecurity posture and support the agency’s mission
- Ensure compliance with applicable information security requirements by coordinating cybersecurity audits, security assessments, and compliance reviews
- Oversee the Justice Center’s Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan and coordinate responses to cybersecurity incidents
- Partner with Enterprise Solutions, ITS, and business units to ensure appropriate information security requirements are integrated into technology initiatives, procurements, system implementations, and third-party services
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and coordinate vulnerability assessment and remediation efforts with ITS and other technology partners
- Coordinate agency-wide cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives
- Develop cybersecurity metrics and report on the Justice Center’s cybersecurity posture to executive leadership
- Collaborate with Internal Audit and Internal Controls to strengthen the agency’s enterprise risk management and internal control environment
- Serve as the Justice Center’s primary liaison on information security matters with ITS and other partners
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications Seven years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience*, including one year at the supervisory level.
*Substitutions: A bachelor’s or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years of required experience; any bachelor’s substitutes for two years of required experience. An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute for one year of required experience. Candidates in a bachelor’s degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute such credits for one year of required experience. A master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of required experience.
