Job description
Plexlane Technologies is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and coordinate cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance remediation initiatives for clients operating in regulated and defense-related environments.
This role will manage projects focused on NIST 800-171 remediation, CMMC readiness, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure modernization, endpoint hardening, network security remediation, and operational cybersecurity improvements.
The ideal candidate has experience managing complex cybersecurity and infrastructure programs involving cross-functional technical teams, external vendors, compliance stakeholders, and executive leadership. The individual should be comfortable operating in fast-paced environments requiring strong coordination, communication, execution management, and risk mitigation capabilities.
The position will work closely with cybersecurity leadership, infrastructure architects, security engineers, client stakeholders, and third-party partners to ensure successful delivery of remediation and modernization initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Program Management
- Lead cybersecurity and infrastructure remediation projects from initiation through execution and closure.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and remediation workstreams.
- Coordinate activities across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, network, and compliance teams.
- Manage project status reporting, executive communications, and stakeholder alignment.
- Track remediation progress, issue resolution, risks, blockers, and escalation items.
- Facilitate client meetings, steering committees, and operational reviews.
Cybersecurity & Compliance Coordination
- Support projects aligned to NIST 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, and related cybersecurity frameworks.
- Coordinate remediation activities associated with vulnerability management, endpoint hardening, network security, and infrastructure modernization.
- Support SSP, POA&M, evidence collection, and audit-readiness activities.
- Ensure remediation activities are documented, tracked, and aligned with project objectives and timelines.
Infrastructure & Technical Project Oversight
- Coordinate technical teams supporting:
- Endpoint remediation
- Firewall and network security improvements
- Identity and access management initiatives
- Vulnerability remediation
- Cloud and infrastructure modernization
- Security tooling deployments
- Work closely with engineers and architects to track technical deliverables and operational readiness.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with external vendors, managed service providers, security partners, and client IT organizations.
- Manage meeting cadence, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with resource coordination and project prioritization.
- Support client communications and executive-level updates.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, remediation trackers, action items, and status reports.
- Prepare executive summaries, dashboards, and remediation progress reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation of project decisions, risks, and operational changes., * Describe your experience managing cybersecurity, infrastructure, or remediation projects involving NIST 800-171, CMMC, or regulated environments.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, * 5+ years of experience managing cybersecurity, infrastructure, or enterprise technology projects.
- Experience leading cybersecurity remediation or compliance-related initiatives.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Experience managing projects involving vulnerability remediation, endpoint security, infrastructure upgrades, or security modernization.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, or related cybersecurity/compliance frameworks.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams and third-party vendors.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as:
- Microsoft Project
- Azure DevOps
- Jira
- Smartsheet
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Ability to operate independently in client-facing environments., * Experience supporting Aerospace & Defense or regulated industry clients.
- Familiarity with GCC High or Azure Government environments.
- Experience managing cybersecurity infrastructure remediation programs.
- Exposure to cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, SIEM, or infrastructure security projects.
- PMP, Scrum, Agile, or cybersecurity-related certifications preferred.
- Experience managing hybrid infrastructure and cloud transformation initiatives.

$65 - $75 an hour - Full-time, Contract
