Job description

We are seeking an adaptable, customer-focused Systems Administrator / Desktop Support professional to help support our IT infrastructure and support our growing team. In this dual-function role, you will split your time between system administration (managing active cloud instances, maintaining core network health, and managing Microsoft 365 environments) and day-to-day user support (troubleshooting devices, software, onboarding)., * Systems & Cloud Administration:

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID / Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, and Intune).
  • Monitor, maintain, and provision cloud virtual private servers (VPS) within Digital Ocean (Linux administration, routine updates, firewall policies, backups).
  • Enforce company-wide identity, access, and endpoint security practices (MFA, password control, patch management).
  • Network & Infrastructure Maintenance:
  • Manage local site networking built on Ubiquiti UniFi hardware (Network Printers, Routers, Switches, Access Points).
  • Monitor network stability, manage VLANs, optimize Wi-Fi connectivity, and handle site-to-site/remote VPN access.
  • Document IT workflows, network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and asset inventories.
  • End-User & Desktop Support:
  • Provide Tier 1-2 technical support for local and remote staff (Windows/macOS laptops, mobile devices, peripherals).
  • Manage user onboarding/offboarding (account creation, hardware provisioning, offboarding data retention).
  • Maintain and support productivity software, video conferencing, printer hardware, and local VoIP phone systems.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who is just as comfortable helping a user resolve an Outlook issue as they are configuring firewall rules or deploying a Linux cloud server., * Education & Experience: 2-4 years of progressive experience in system administration and desktop support.

  • Microsoft 365 Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Administration (User management, Exchange Online, Entra ID / Azure AD).
  • Linux Essentials: Basic to intermediate command-line experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian systems commonly hosted on Digital Ocean).
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Subnetting, and Wi-Fi management.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication and a customer-service mindset when working with internal staff., * Direct experience managing Ubiquiti UniFi Network Controller / UniFi OS.
  • Hands-on experience with Digital Ocean (Droplets, Block Storage, Floating IPs, Firewalls).
  • Experience with MDM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune) for automated endpoint provisioning.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Bash) for routine maintenance and task automation.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900/AZ-900), or Ubiquiti Enterprise Wireless/Routing & Switching.
