If so, apply today!, As an IT Support Technician, you will provide responsive technical support to employees across the agency while serving as a key member of our IT asset management team. You will receive, track, deploy, recover, and maintain technology equipment throughout its lifecycle, ensuring employees have the tools they need to be successful. This role combines hands-on customer service, inventory management, technical troubleshooting, and coordination with internal teams to deliver reliable and efficient IT support. Some of what you will do:

  • Receive, verify, track, and maintain inventory records for computers, monitors, and other IT equipment throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Fulfill equipment requests by preparing, staging, distributing, and documenting technology assets across the agency.
  • Deliver friendly, timely technical support by troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues for internal customers.
  • Coordinate the recovery, transportation, and surplus of IT equipment while maintaining accurate inventory and disposition records.
  • Document service requests, technical issues, and resolutions to support efficient service delivery and knowledge sharing.
  • Travel to agency locations to deploy equipment, provide onsite technical support, and retrieve or replace technology assets.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in information technology related activities such as testing, installing, maintaining, supporting, or averting hardware and software system failures on client applications, hardware and software products, mainframe systems, network infrastructure equipment, or telecommunications software or hardware.

  • Two (2) years of experience doing inventory control including intake, management, and disposal.
  • One (1) year of experience in the following:

  • Providing customer service and support.
  • Providing IT end-user support.
  • Six (6) months of using, editing, and creating technical processes related to lifecycle management documentation and actions.
  • The ability to:

  • Understand and follow agency values of respect, trust, diversity, equity, and inclusion through behaviors, and decisions.
  • Promote and support a respectful, equitable, and inclusive workplace for all employees.
  • Promote and support respectful, equitable, and inclusive delivery of services to customers.

Experience can be obtained concurrently. Relevant education (Computer Science or closely related field) may substitute year for year for experience. What may set you apart:

  • IT Certifications, including (but not limited to):

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Fundamentals, CompTIA Network+
  • Additional higher education beyond the minimum.
  • Current or prior forklift certification.
