Job description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a to support a company focused on defending and securing Department of Defense cyberspace operations through mission planning, defensive cyber operations, and network defense initiatives. This position is . The Cyber Operations Planner will support future operations planning, defensive cyber operations execution, and strategic cyber mission development across a complex DoD environment. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to the protection of critical military networks and support high-impact cyber operations that strengthen national defense.
- Lead and support defensive cyberspace operations planning, future operations (FUOPS), and crisis action planning efforts.
- Develop CONOPS, Commander’s Estimates, BPLANs, CONPLANs, OPLANs, mission orders, and other operational planning products.
- Coordinate with joint staffs, combatant commands, service cyber components, and stakeholders to synchronize cyber operations and planning activities.
- Brief Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership on operational plans, assessments, and mission objectives.
- Support operational planning teams, working groups, and cyber campaign planning efforts while developing measures of effectiveness and mission assessments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience supporting cyber operations, military planning, operational planning, or related DoD mission environments.
- Experience with cyber operations tools and technologies including Splunk, IDS/IPS platforms, PCAP analysis, and Wireshark.
- Strong knowledge of Joint Planning Process (JPP), Joint Publication 3-12 (Cyberspace Operations), JP 3-0 Operations, and JP 5-0 Joint Planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain or maintain a CI Polygraph.

Joint Professional Military Education Level I (JPME I) certification required.
- Experience supporting DoD enterprise networks and defensive cyber operations environments.
- Completion of military cyber planning courses such as JCOPC, ACOPC, or JACWC.
- Industry certifications including Security+, Network+, CISSP, or CISM.
- Knowledge of Directive Authority for Cyberspace Operations (DACO).
