Job description

Vision IT is seeking a Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support mission-critical defense operations onsite at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The ISSO will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified and unclassified information systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and organizational security standards., The ISSO will support the cybersecurity posture of assigned information systems and act as a primary security liaison for system owners, engineers, and authorizing officials. Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining security controls in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Supporting system authorization (ATO/Interim ATO) packages and documentation updates
  • Conducting and coordinating continuous monitoring activities, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments
  • Tracking and remediating security findings from audits, assessments, and vulnerability reports
  • Ensuring systems comply with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and applicable federal regulations
  • Collaborating with ISSMs, ISSOs, engineers, and system administrators to maintain secure system configurations
  • Managing Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documentation and risk tracking
  • Supporting incident response activities and reporting cybersecurity events in accordance with DoD timelines
  • Maintaining security documentation, including SSPs, contingency plans, and authorization artifacts, At Vision IT, we lead with People First, ensuring our employees and customers thrive. Requirements

Do you have experience in Vulnerability scanning?, This role is ideal for a detail-oriented cybersecurity professional with strong knowledge of DoD security controls, authorization processes, and continuous monitoring practices., * Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (must be current and transferable)

  • CompTIA Security+ certification (required and compliant with DoD 8570/8140)
  • Experience working in DoD, military, or federal cybersecurity environments
  • Strong understanding of RMF (NIST SP 800-37) and security control frameworks (NIST SP 800-53)
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools and security assessment processes
  • Familiarity with STIG compliance, SCAP tools, and security hardening practices
  • Ability to work onsite full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base, * Experience supporting Space Force or Air Force cybersecurity environments
  • Prior ISSO, ISSM, or Information Assurance role experience
  • Knowledge of eMASS or similar RMF authorization management systems
  • Additional cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CASP+, CySA+)
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
