Job description

  • Build relationships with consulting engineers, owner operators, and design partners to influence mechanical insulation decisions on large scale data center projects
  • Lead technical presentations, lunch and learns, and specification reviews that help customers evaluate insulation options before equipment is purchased
  • Partner with commercial teammates to advance long cycle opportunities from early design through contractor handoff and project execution
  • Track market activity, competitor positioning, and project intelligence to sharpen go to market strategy in the data center segment
  • Translate field feedback into practical recommendations for product development, positioning, and technical support resources
  • Travel nationally to customer sites, industry meetings, and project reviews, typically about half of the time

Requirements

Do you have experience in Product positioning?, Our client is a well-established manufacturer serving complex commercial and industrial environments with highly engineered building system solutions. They are expanding their presence in the fast-growing data center market and are looking for a technically strong, relationship driven Sales Engineer to help shape project specifications early in the design cycle. This is a high impact opportunity for someone who enjoys opening doors, influencing decisions upstream, and partnering with customers on mission critical projects that can take a year or more to develop from concept to close., * Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or another technical discipline

  • Background selling or supporting mechanical products used in HVAC, plumbing, building systems, or mission critical facilities
  • Ability to read mechanical plans and discuss application choices with engineers, contractors, and end users
  • Comfort working in Salesforce or a similar CRM while managing a project pipeline that may span a year or longer
  • Strong communication skills with the credibility to serve as both a technical resource and a business development partner
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50 to 65 percent across the United States

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to data center projects, mission critical environments, or specification driven sales cycles
  • Experience conducting technical training or continuing education style presentations for engineering audiences
  • Hunter mentality with the ability to create momentum in an emerging market focus area, * Have you ever consulted for or sold products into specifications for data centers?
  • Do you have 3-5 years of application or sales engineering experience?
  • Are you comfortable traveling across the U.S to meet with customers roughly 50-60% of the time?
