Job description

  • Lead and evolve the team: Set a clear vision for how the team supports business performance, planning, and decision-making, and build a high-performing group that balances responsiveness with strategic focus.
  • Partner with senior leaders: Act as a trusted thought partner to Operations leadership on business performance, risks, opportunities, and trade-offs. Support business performance reviews with concise narratives, root-cause analysis, and clear recommendations.
  • Own performance insight and business storytelling: Ensure the team delivers high-quality analysis that connects operational data to commercial and customer outcomes, with a consistent, leadership-ready view of KPIs, trends, exceptions, and emerging risks.
  • Define metrics and improve decision quality: Establish robust KPI definitions, performance frameworks, and success measures, and improve consistency in how performance is measured across teams, projects, and reviews.
  • Build scalable insight capabilities: Improve the team’s operating model, standards, and ways of working to efficiently manage ad hoc demand alongside recurring insight cycles. Partner with data, operations, finance, product, and other functions to improve access to reliable insight, and drive continuous improvement in tools and reporting approaches., * Strategic Influence: Operations leaders rely on the team for judgment and decision support, not just for raw numbers.
  • Actionable Reviews: Business reviews are sharper, simpler, and consistently result in clear leadership actions.
  • Trusted Data: KPI definitions are clear, consistently used across the organization, and grounded in sound logic.
  • AI Integration: Generative AI, automation, and conversation analytics tools are successfully leveraged to accelerate reporting mechanics, allowing the team to focus on high-value diagnosis.

Requirements

  • Analytical Leadership: Significant experience leading analytics or decision-support teams, ideally within a fast-scaling or transformation-led environment.
  • Stakeholder Credibility: A proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex data into clear, persuasive business narratives.
  • Operational Judgment: Strong commercial instincts with the ability to identify which metrics truly drive value and which are noise.
  • Technical Literacy: This role does not require writing production code or architecting data pipelines. It does require enough fluency in SQL, data modelling, and modern BI tooling to have a credible, detailed technical dialogue.
  • Intellectual Rigor: The ability to challenge weak assumptions or misleading conclusions constructively and with authority.
  • Change Management: Experience leading teams through shifts in operating models and raising performance standards., * A Strategic Operator: You are practical and forward-looking, able to simplify complexity for others.
  • A High-Standards Leader: You drive excellence and rigor without becoming bureaucratic.
  • A Calm Communicator: You maintain presence and credibility even when under pressure or challenging senior leadership.

About the company

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster., The future of Operations at Adyen is built on data-driven autonomy. As AI increasingly automates the mechanics of data retrieval and trend summarization, the real value shifts to the human layer: framing the right problems, validating rigorously, and turning insight into action.
