Job description

Our client, a leading company in the automotive and electric mobility sector, is seeking an R&D Test Rig Engineer to join their test center, where automatic transmissions, hybrid, and full-electric prototype powertrains are developed and validated.

In this role, you will: Operate and develop advanced test rigs to evaluate the performance of conventional, hybrid, and electric powertrains. Develop and improve the test rig environment, including hardware and software (LabView), focusing on innovation and precision in test performance. Software runs on a real-time platform and uses Python and CANape as automation tools. Take ownership of assigned test rigs, ensuring high-quality operation, routine maintenance, necessary upgrades, and continuous efficiency improvements. Act as the primary contact for operational issues, resolving problems systematically to prevent recurrence. Collaborate closely with validation and test engineers, test rig operators, and other R&D departments to execute and optimize testing processes. Develop tools and documentation to standardize and ensure consistent operation across all test rigs, using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance testing quality and efficiency.

Requirements

Engineering degree with a strong interest in mechatronic systems. Programming experience is required. Basic knowledge of control theory, structural dynamics, and high-voltage applications is essential. Knowledge of automotive testing, sensors, data acquisition, test equipment, and electromechanics is an advantage.
