Job description
You will be responsible of the equipment’s reliability of the R&D units. You will work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, quality and EHS teams. You will set maintenance strategy, drive preventive and predictive activities, and lead improvements that increase equipment availability and reduce cost. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Develop and implement reliability strategies (Local (MU) and transversal (Belgium)) to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Analyse reliability data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and recommend + implement and document corrective actions.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Perform deep analysis of Emergency events in order to propose and implement major improvements of the equipment availability
- Conduct criticality analyses of equipment and processes to prioritize improvement efforts.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new equipment and processes, ensuring that reliability principles are integrated from the start.
- Support CAPEX projects to ensure reliability, sustainability, and maintainability are considered and integrated.
- Prepare and present reliability points during L3 and L4 audits.
- Train and mentor team members and non-reliability teams on reliability best practices.
- Expert in the use and facilitation of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology for continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute to the company’s safety culture by ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Why You? Working arrangement: This role is on-site at our Belgium facility. Hybrid or remote work is not available due to the hands-on nature of the work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in reliability, maintenance or asset management in an industrial or regulated environment.
- Practical experience with reliability methods such as RCM, FMEA/FMECA, and root cause analysis.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques and spare parts management.
- Good communication skills in English. Knowledge of French or Dutch is an advantage.
Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Reliability certification or formal training in reliability engineering.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with condition monitoring systems and data analytics for reliability.
- Experience preparing inputs for CAPEX projects and designing maintainable equipment.
- Practical skills in facilitating cross-disciplinary workshops and coaching technicians.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma) and DMAIC.
