Software Engineer - BI & Reporting Tools

• Develop and modernise reporting tools and data-driven applications
• Support the migration and improvement of existing BI/reporting solutions
• Work with different data sources, reporting logic, and data models
• Build or support reporting features such as filters, hierarchy views, dashboards, and periodic data refresh
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
• Help introduce AI capabilities and automation into reporting processes
• Support the transition from traditional reporting into more modern, flexible, AI-enabled solutions

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in BI, reporting tools, and data-driven applications to join a new remote contract project.

This is not a pure Power BI Developer role. The ideal person is a strong developer or engineer who has worked with reporting tools, BI platforms, dashboards, or custom reporting solutions, and understands how business reporting works from both a technical and data perspective.

The project involves modernising and migrating existing reporting solutions, with the goal of moving towards more advanced, custom-developed reporting tools that can include AI capabilities, automated insights, periodic data refresh, and flexible filtering by hierarchy or other business data points.

This is a mixed profile: someone with solid development experience combined with good knowledge of BI, Power BI, reporting logic, dashboards, and data visualisation concepts., * Strong background as a Senior Software Engineer / Senior Developer

• Experience with backend/software development technologies
• Experience working with BI, reporting tools, dashboards, or data-driven applications
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar BI platforms
• Good understanding of reporting logic, data models, filters, and data visualisation concepts
• Experience working with different data sources and structured data
• Interest or experience in AI, automation, or AI-supported reporting solutions
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote contract environment
• Good communication skills in English
