Job description
The IBMi/RPG Developer contributes toward the success of Allied’s IBMi system. The IBMi/RPG Developer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing Allied’s IBMi and RPG applications. S/He is a person who can communicate on both a technical and business level, partnering with the Product team and Infrastructure team., * Provide day-to-day administration of databases, which includes monitoring and tuning, optimization, resolving errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization
- Analyze business requirements and design back-end code functions to accomplish objectives
- IBMi/ RPG application development, support, and enhancements
- Facilitate/ address all user acceptance testing issues for projects
- Application development and enhancements using RPG/ RPG ILE (fixed and free format)
- Change/ enhancements for existing applications
- Web application support and development for IBMi on Java/.NET/Node JS
- Performance enhancement of IBMi/RPG applications
- File transfer (FTP, Excel to IBMi, IBMi to Excel)
- CVS source control, DBU, STRDBG and SQL
- IBMi Modernization
- API

Requirements
Do you have experience in Stored procedures?, * AA Degree in Computer Science or related field of study
- Technology Development Experience: Minimum 5-10 years
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years with IBMi
- Languages: S/36 RPGII, S/36 PROC, RPG/400, SQL 400, CLLE, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, Stored Procedures, DDS for database files, display files, subfiles and FTP
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Proficiency with open-source packages on IBMi - Node.js and Python
- Generating email using native SMTP or open-source libraries on IBMi
- Understanding of Agile Methodologies, JIRA and/ or FreshService
- Web apps/network experience
- Experience working in healthcare industry (HIPAA, PII, CMS, etc.)
- 834 Guidelines
- SOC2 knowledge and importance of protecting PIN within HIPAA guidelines, * Knowledge of S/36 environment or working knowledge of S/36 environment
- Backup, Recovery, and Media Services (BRMS)
- Excel and ODBC relationship to database on IBMi
- Understanding of Relational Database design principles
- Understand of IBM system backup and restore procedures
- Demonstrated experience in application development, complex code development, application testing, and component design
- Ability to quickly analyze and make recommendations as to the most efficient method to meet the development requirements
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Ability to manage a large list of development objects and coordinate the delivery of these objects with Product Team
- Proactive and strong follow-up skills
- Detail-oriented
- A track record of working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
