Job description
AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. (βAEGISβ) has an immediate opening for an Data Developer I responsible for the development and testing of data integration workflows (ETL Packages, Stored Procedures, UDF, Adhoc-Queries), test plans, and test cases using Microsoft technologies such as SSIS, SSAS and SQL Server Database, as well as company-wide document management. The incumbent works closely with the IT development and analyst teams which maintains a broad portfolio of business critical vendor and custom applications., Design and Development

Write efficient, maintainable SQL and Python code to create, implement, and optimize data pipelines ensuring high data quality and flow across systems

Responsible for ETL and Data PL/SQL coding and unit testing based on the design provided by the Enterprise Data Lead

May contribute to the development of part of a larger initiative or independently manage a standalone project
Program/Project Management and Support

Collaborate and exchange work seamlessly with offshore developers
-
Collaborate with business analysts, testers and business users to effectively prioritize development activities within resource constraints

Provide technical support for assigned applications
Communication and Training
-
Develop and maintain current, relevant technical documentation for assigned applications
-
Provide appropriate training to users on the use of assigned applications
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
- Continuously develop knowledge of new technology practices, platforms, and tools, and remain up to date on the latest technological trends

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience with
-
Microsoft SSIS, SSAS and Relational Database technologies
-
Exposure to web services (SOAP, XML, etc.)
-
SQL Server including T-SQL or PL/SQL
-
Data warehousing - Data Modeling (Star - Schema), Data Profiling
-
Insurance industry (Property & Casualty desired)
-
Experience implementing coding best practices via code reviews and code inspection tools
-
Experience implementing Code Version Control such as GitHub
-
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience

Demonstrated ability to write efficient, maintainable SQL and Python code

Benefits & conditions
We expect to pay a starting salary between $80,000 and $85,000. An applicantβs placement within this range is based on their individual qualifications and professional experience. In addition to base salary, AEGIS employees are eligible to participate in the Companyβs annual incentive program, with competitive awards based on corporate and individual performance.
