Job description

We are seeking experienced Embedded Software Engineers to support the development of next-generation safety-critical avionics and flight control systems for a major aerospace and defense program. This role focuses on multicore processor architectures, embedded real-time software development, and certification-compliant software for advanced avionics applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute, and analyze SoC benchmarking procedures to assess performance and reliability.

  • Configure, enable, and develop advanced SoC features on NXP S32 and Layerscape processor families, including S32G2 and LS1046A platforms.

  • Design and implement multicore processing architectures while mitigating multi-core interference risks.

  • Develop bare-metal software, processor bring-up solutions, bootloaders, and SMP/MCP operating system frameworks.

  • Ensure deterministic software behavior in safety-critical avionics and flight control applications.

  • Design and implement advanced communication protocols including Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), PCIe, and AFDX.

  • Evaluate SoC platforms and develop technical reports assessing suitability for safety-critical avionics applications.

  • Develop innovative test environments and verification methodologies supporting DO-178C Level A certification objectives.

  • Perform advanced software and hardware analyses including Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET), Data and Control Coupling Coverage (DCCC), and timing, latency, and determinism assessments.

  • Collaborate with FPGA and ASIC teams to evaluate interface performance, timing interactions, and system integration.

  • Support software certification and compliance activities within highly regulated aerospace programs.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of low-level embedded engineering experience.

  • Experience with flight controls, preferably within the last year.

  • Experience with DO-178 compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with FPGA, ASIC interfaces, and timing interactions.

  • Ability to perform complex analyses such as WCET and DCCC.

  • Proficiency in Python, ARM DS IDE, and Dstream.

Benefits & conditions

This role offers fully remote flexibility, allowing engineers to contribute to mission-critical aerospace programs from anywhere. Engineers will be deeply involved in advanced multicore processor architecture, deterministic real-time systems, safety-critical software development, SoC optimization, and DO-178C certification efforts. Work alongside industry experts in flight controls, embedded software, FPGA design, ASIC integration, and avionics certification, providing continuous opportunities to learn and grow. The work environment is highly technical and challenging, focusing on cutting-edge flight control technologies
