Job description
The West of Scotland Safe Haven, part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, provides secure access to pseudonymised NHS health datasets for research purposes. In this role, you will support the extraction, curation and delivery of datasets from the data warehouse environment to the Safe Haven secure analytics platform. You will work with de-identified data, ensuring the highest standards of data protection and information governance are maintained to safeguard patient confidentiality while supporting vital health research.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met., You will extract and curate datasets from the data warehouse environment using SQL and deliver these securely to the Safe Haven analytics platform.
You will work with pseudonymised NHS health data, ensuring all information is managed in line with data protection legislation and information governance standards to protect patient privacy.
You will provide expert technical support to NHS research project teams, using your analytical and problem-solving skills to manage, interrogate and interpret large datasets. Requirements
- Degree qualification in a relevant subject.
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Proven experience querying data using SQL.
- Ability to provide expert support to NHS data research project teams.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with experience handling large datasets using modern data science methodologies.
- Desirable experience with SQL Studio.
- Desirable knowledge of health data standards.
- Desirable understanding of clinical information systems.

- This is a fixed term post for 2 years.
- You will be working full time hours (36) - shift pattern has yet to be confirmed
