Job description
The HR Systems Manager will be the primary owner of Burlington’s HR Service delivery technology space. This consists of leading the strategy, administration, optimization, and expansion of systems that support employee and HR operational services and inquiries. This role will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of new HR technology capabilities that enhance the overall HR tech stack. This individual will serve as a technical and functional expert, working in close partnership with the HR Transformation team. In this role, they will help shape roadmaps and oversee the specification, development, and implementation of new and redesigned processes and system functionality across data, service delivery, case management, and user experience. The Manager will lead key HR Systems initiatives that extend beyond traditional HR boundaries and serve as a critical liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable, integrated solutions that support enterprise priorities.
A Day In The Life
- HR Service Delivery Technology Ownership
- Serve as the primary owner of HR service delivery technology, including system strategy, administration, enhancement, and support for employee services, HR operations, and case management
- Define requirements and lead the design and implementation of new or redesigned functionality across Workday products, workflows, data, and reporting in partnership with HR, IT, and vendors.
- Consultation
- Owns relationships with, and presents to, multiple levels within the organization, including senior leaders
- Contributes to development of HRIS strategy and procedures; researches new techniques and maintains knowledge of current trends and strategies in technology and the retail industry
- Project and People Leadership
- Oversees and manages projects, developing scope, timelines, and components to deliver effective and impactful results
- Lead the execution of strategic HR Systems initiatives through effective project oversight and people leadership, developing team capability, directing day-to-day work, and ensuring resources are aligned to support new service delivery technologies and broader HR transformation priorities.
- Manage project workload at times for Analysts and Specialists; teach/develop technical skillsets of others
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or Business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of Seven years of progressive HR technology experience, three years at a senior level
- Experience leading or supporting system implementations, enhancements, and process redesign efforts with increasing scope and responsibility; success creating project plans, presentations, and product roadmaps
- Previous Workday configuration experience required; previous experience developing and implementing Workday products preferred
- At least two (2) Workday Pro Certifications (HCM, Security, Integrations, etc.); Enhanced understanding of Workday Security framework and business process configuration
- Consultative nature with an emphasis on pairing systemic solutions with business initiatives and practices
- Strong understanding of the downstream impact of system configuration, business process, and data changes across integrated HR operations.
- Exercises considerable judgment and discretion in preparing and handling information of a sensitive nature

Hybrid Work Model: This position is based out of our Corporate Headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule. Current in-office expectations are Wednesdays and Thursdays on a biweekly basis, subject to change based on business needs.
