Job description

The Supercharging team is responsible for managing and expanding the world’s fastest electric vehicle charging network, which includes over 80,000 Superchargers worldwide. The team is looking for an Applications Engineer to drive solutions to challenging technical problems. The individual will become a product expert across Tesla’s DC charging products. This role will require the individual to be the primary connector between the Charging Deployment division and the larger Engineering Development organization. Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with the Product Management and Hardware Sales teams. What You’ll Do

  • Organize, triage, and develop strategies for solving all the biggest technical challenges that are barriers to Charging Deployment
  • Develop and drive solutions that reduce cost, and increase deployment speed
  • Investigate and report technical product requirements to Product Management and Product Engineering teams
  • Act as the lead technical resource to ensure smooth product and feature launches

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in an engineering or technical program management role, or equivalent
  • Experience in renewable energy technologies (EVs, batteries, solar, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with networking, smart-grid protocols, and controls preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to synthesize information into key takeaways for a broad range of audiences
  • Collaborative, team oriented, and highly proficient at leading cross-functional projects
  • Fast-moving executer and innately curious - driven to quickly learn, iterate, and improve

Expected Compensation $100,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
