Integration Project Manager
Location: Remote with infrequent travel to UK sites Contract: Inside IR35 Day rate: Up to £650 per day Duration: 6 months (3-4 days per week, increasing during key project phases) Start date: ASAP Key words: Digital Waste Tracking (IT Transformation), software integration, weighbridge software
Were looking for an experienced Integration Project Manager to lead the delivery of a business-critical Digital Waste Tracking (DWT) programme ahead of new legislation coming into effect on 1st October 2026.
This is a cross-functional project focused on ensuring the organisations waste receiving sites are fully compliant with the Environment Agencys new Digital Waste Tracking requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate technical, operational and compliance workstreams to deliver the necessary system changes, integrations and business readiness activities.
The legislation requires all waste receiving sites to digitally report waste movements via the Environment Agencys Digital Waste Tracking platform.
Much of the groundwork has already been completed, with existing weighbridge software already interfacing with the Environment Agency API. The remaining work centres around coordinating software upgrades, implementing additional data fields, enabling automated daily reporting, and ensuring all business functions are aligned for a successful go-live.
The Project Manager will bring together functional specialists across IT, Operations, Commercial, Finance and Compliance to deliver the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Digital Waste Tracking implementation programme.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, Operations, Commercial, Finance and Compliance.
- Manage third-party software providers delivering system upgrades and integrations.
- Oversee modifications to existing weighbridge software and Environment Agency API integrations.
- Ensure required data fields and reporting capabilities are implemented to meet legislative requirements.
- Coordinate implementation activity across approximately 10 waste receiving sites.
- Manage project plans, governance, risks, issues and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure the business is fully prepared for the mandatory October 2026 compliance deadline.
- Environment
- Around 10 waste receiving sites across the UK.
- Predominantly remote role with occasional site visits.
- Sites include locations around Derby, Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and South Wales.

- Cross-functional business change initiatives.
- Vendor and third-party supplier management.
- Regulatory or compliance-driven projects.
- Waste industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
