Job description

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to support Bloomberg market data platforms and Trade Operations initiatives for our asset management client located in New York City. The role requires 3 days per week onsite in their office. This role will focus on Bloomberg data ingestion, historical data management, and backend database development within a financial services environment. The engineer will work closely with Operations and Technology stakeholders to streamline Bloomberg data usage, eliminate duplication, optimize workflows, and support downstream consumers. This person should understand the “SELECT *” feature of SQL and feel confident using it. Strong ownership, communication skills, and the ability to operate independently are critical.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer -Experience working with Bloomberg market data within a financial institution, asset manager, bank, hedge fund, or trading firm -Strong SQL and relational database experience; ability to write and troubleshoot queries, validate data loads, perform reconciliations, and support backend data platforms -Hands-on experience with Bloomberg Per Security Data License request and response files, including creating, processing, validating, or loading Bloomberg data -Experience working with large Bloomberg datasets, market data feeds, reference data, pricing data, or security master platforms -Ability to partner with multiple business lines, gather requirements, lead discussions, and communicate effectively with Operations and Technology teams -Proven track record identifying redundancies, improving data quality, and streamlining data workflows and processes -Strong individual contributor capable of owning projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Snowflake, DBT, Python, ETL/data warehousing experience -Exposure to capital markets, equities, trading, operations, middle office, or market data systems
