Cybersecurity Specialist

• Monitor, assess, and respond to security threats across our digital learning platforms, networks, and cloud services.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses to proactively identify potential weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., FERPA, COPPA) and internal policies.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents within the work environment, remediate them, and report them diligently.
• Collaborate closely with IT, administrator staff, and other teams to come up with the best policies and procedures.
• Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements to enhance overall security posture.
• Participate in incident response planning and disaster recovery best practices.
• Implement phishing simulation campaigns and deliver ongoing security awareness training to staff.
• Familiarity with databases and APIs.

Do you have experience in iOS?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field, preferably within education or remote learning environments.

• Strong knowledge of online learning platforms, cloud infrastructure, network security, and endpoint protection.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of cross-platform security, including patch management, access controls, and system hardening across macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux server environments, using established security standards (CIS, NIST, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear guidance for non-technical staff.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
• Experience with Intune and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Jamf products - Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, Jamf Trust, Absolute - is a plus.
• Must be familiar with education systems and have experience working within schools
• TB test clearance
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
• Complete the School’s Transportation/Driving Policy and provide all supporting documentation to the School’s Human Resources Department Education

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related field
• Security+ and CISSP Certifications

Must possess the manual dexterity to operate business-related equipment and to handle and work with various objects and materials.
