Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and solutions-driven Information Technology Specialist to support, maintain, and enhance the organization’s IT infrastructure in a remote environment. This role involves managing systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, and supporting end users across various platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate independently. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Support cloud-based systems, virtualization platforms, and remote access tools
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, data protection standards, and best practices
- Perform system updates, patches, and backups regularly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives
- Document IT processes, configurations, and system changes
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and system continuity strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-6+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified, or AWS Certified are preferred
