Job description

Gallaher Signature Living is seeking a full-time Caregiver in Assisted Living to join our team. Every interaction-whether assisting with daily routines or offering companionship-reflects our commitment to personalized service, elevated hospitality, and a life lived with comfort, meaning, and joy., In accordance with California Title 22 (RCFE) regulations and community standards, the Caregiver will:

  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and continence care, while honoring resident preferences, privacy, and dignity.
  • Support residents with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transfers, including the safe use of walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, and approved lifting techniques.
  • Assist with mealtime service, including meal delivery, set-up, cueing, and feeding as permitted, ensuring a gracious and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to call systems, alerts, and resident requests to ensure safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
  • Observe, document, and immediately report any changes in residents’ physical condition, cognitive status, or emotional wellbeing to appropriate licensed or supervisory staff, in compliance with Title 22 reporting requirements.
  • Provide light housekeeping services related to resident care, such as laundry, bed making, and tidying living spaces, to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Encourage residents, as appropriate, to participate in maintaining their personal living spaces to support independence and safety.
  • Offer warm companionship, engaging residents in conversation, recreational programming, and social activities that enrich daily life.
  • Promote participation in community life and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere.
  • Adhere to all community policies, infection control practices, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior caregiving experience in assisted living, memory care, or a related setting preferred; training provided for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to safely use mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and basic household appliances.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire, as required by Title 22).
  • Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented, compassionate, and team-focused approach.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with all regulatory requirements.
