Job description

  • Support the execution of Proof of Concepts (POCs), pilot deployments, and Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) engagements.
  • Assemble, configure, deploy, and test robotic systems at customer and partner sites.
  • Integrate, calibrate, and validate sensors, including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and depth sensors.
  • Execute predefined test plans, collect and validate test data, and document results.
  • Maintain, transport, and ensure the readiness of robotic platforms, field equipment, and testing kits.
  • Assist with field troubleshooting by collecting logs, reproducing issues, and supporting root cause analysis.
  • Create clear technical documentation, including test reports, calibration reports, configuration notes, and integration guides.
  • Operate and monitor the robotic software stack, diagnose common software issues, and support issue resolution.
  • Develop Python scripts for test automation, data processing, and engineering support tools.
  • Support the integration and use of industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT and CAN.
  • Continuously develop technical expertise in robotics, sensing technologies, and functional safety while taking increasing ownership of field engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic systems, including internships, research projects, or thesis work.
  • Practical experience with ROS or ROS2 and a solid understanding of robotic software architectures.
  • Proficiency in Linux and comfortable working in a command-line environment.
  • Strong Python scripting skills for test automation, data analysis, and engineering tools.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and analytical approach to testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% across Germany/Europe.
  • Fluent in English with working proficiency in German.
  • Nice to have: experience with sensor integration and calibration, teleoperation systems, robot policy training or model deployment, functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN ISO 13849), EtherCAT, CAN, Embedded Linux, C or Rust, and MATLAB or Simulink.
