Job description

  • We will rely on you to manage and support day-to-day IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, devices, Microsoft 365, security systems and cloud services.
  • You will provide senior-level technical support to users across the business and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
  • You will maintain IT assets, licences, user accounts, permissions and system documentation.
  • You will support the administration, maintenance and improvement of our Intact ERP system.
  • You will assist with ERP user access, roles, reporting, system queries, testing, upgrades and process improvements.
  • You will liaise with external IT providers, ERP consultants and software vendors to manage support issues, renewals and system enhancements.
  • You will proactively identify opportunities to improve IT systems, business processes, reporting, automation and user experience.
  • You will support cyber security best practice, including access control, backups, endpoint protection, MFA and data security.
  • You will support and contribute to IT and business systems projects, including upgrades, software rollouts, integrations and process change.
  • You will work with senior management and department heads to understand business requirements and deliver practical IT solutions.

This Senior IT Support Engineer role is based at our site in Saintfield, around 20 minutes from Belfast, and offers the chance to play a crucial part in keeping our IT systems and infrastructure reliable, secure and effective. Requirements

  • We are looking for an experienced, proactive and solutions-focused Senior IT Support Engineer with ownership mindset.
  • We need proven experience in a senior IT support, infrastructure, systems administration or business systems role.
  • We require strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, networking, hardware, software and cloud-based systems.
  • Experience supporting an ERP system is required.
  • A good understanding of cyber security, backups, access control and IT governance is required.
  • We need someone who can document systems, processes and procedures clearly.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • You must be able to work independently, take ownership and manage competing priorities.
  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is desirable, although equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in a similar IT systems role with strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, support and business systems is required.
  • Experience in a multi-site, distribution, logistics, wholesale, retail or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience supporting finance, stock, warehouse, purchasing or sales order processing systems is desirable.
  • Project delivery experience, including system upgrades, migrations or process improvement initiatives, is desirable.
  • Exposure to IT strategy, supplier management, cyber security frameworks or IT budgeting is desirable.
  • We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated and confident taking ownership.
  • We value commercial awareness, a business-focused mindset, organisation, reliability and attention to detail.
  • You should be confident dealing with users, suppliers and senior management.
  • Commitment to best practice, security, documentation and continuous improvement is essential.
