Java Developer

If you’re a Java developer who enjoys keeping critical systems stable, performant, and well-maintained-and you’re happy working with Java 7 / Java 8-this role is built for you. This is a long-term, “keep the lights on and improve it properly” position on a mature platform that the business relies on every day., You’ll join an established engineering team working on core legacy Java applications. Expect a mix of:

• Enhancements to existing functionality (not greenfield)
• Bug fixing and production support with sensible engineering standards
• Refactoring where it adds real value (performance, reliability, maintainability)
• Working closely with stakeholders to deliver safe, well-tested changes

• Strong commercial experience with Java 7 and/or Java 8
• Comfortable in legacy / mature codebases (you don’t need the “latest stack” to do great work)
• Practical approach to debugging, fixing, and improving existing systems
• Experience with relational databases and backend integration work (APIs, services, batch jobs, etc.)
• Someone who values stability, clean code, and shipping reliable changes
