Job description

Design, develop, test, and deploy production-grade enterprise web applications for FINRA’s regulatory technology platforms using object-oriented programming principles, modern JavaScript frameworks, cloud-native architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and relational/NoSQL database technologies. This position requires applying specialized knowledge of software engineering, event-driven architecture design, and full software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices to build scalable, secure, and highly available systems within an Agile development environment., * Design and develop modern, responsive web application front ends using TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and Angular 16+ within a monorepo architecture. Apply object-oriented programming principles and component-based design patterns to deliver enterprise-grade regulatory workflow applications.

  • Architect and implement event-driven, serverless backend services and RESTful APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions. Design asynchronous messaging workflows using Amazon SQS and SNS to enable loosely coupled, scalable microservice communication.
  • Design, develop, and optimize data persistence layers using relational databases (Oracle Database, Amazon RDS/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Amazon DocumentDB, DynamoDB). Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access patterns for high-volume regulatory data processing.
  • Design and implement cloud-native application architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) leveraging container orchestration (Amazon ECS), object storage (Amazon S3), serverless computing (AWS Lambda), and managed database services (Amazon RDS, DocumentDB, DynamoDB) to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security compliance.
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Automate build, test, and deployment workflows across development, QA, and production environments, and manage application configuration and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end test suites using Playwright with TypeScript. Design and execute integration and performance tests to validate application functionality, reliability, and scalability under production-equivalent conditions.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and database administrators to deliver iterative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a directly related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience in enterprise full-stack software development, including demonstrated experience designing and deploying production-grade applications using object-oriented programming principles and database technologies within Agile development frameworks.

Required Skills and Technologies

  • Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript for full-stack application development.
  • Experience with Angular 16+ for modern web application development and monorepo architectures.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing event-driven architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including:
  • Messaging services (Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS)
  • Serverless computing (AWS Lambda)
  • API Gateway
  • AWS Step Functions
  • Data storage solutions (Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon DocumentDB, Amazon DynamoDB)
  • Container orchestration (Amazon ECS)
  • Relational database design and development using Oracle Database and/or PostgreSQL (Amazon RDS).
  • NoSQL database development using Amazon DocumentDB and/or Amazon DynamoDB.
  • End-to-end test development using Playwright with TypeScript, including integration and performance testing.
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, including automated testing frameworks and configuration management.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum iterative development methodologies.
