Job description

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Manager to lead the delivery, optimisation and ongoing evolution of its cloud-based data platform ecosystem.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead enterprise-scale platform initiatives spanning cloud, data, integration and DevOps technologies while managing high-performing technical teams and engaging with senior business stakeholders.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading platform delivery, operations and service management
  • Driving platform modernisation, automation and scalability initiatives
  • Establishing governance, engineering standards and best practices
  • Ensuring platform reliability, performance and operational excellence
  • Managing critical incidents, risks and technical dependencies
  • Leading Agile delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Driving monitoring, observability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing technical leadership across data, cloud and platform technologies
  • Mentoring engineers and technical leads
  • Working closely with architecture, engineering and business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience leading Data Platform, Cloud, Integration or Platform Engineering teams
  • Strong experience with modern data platform technologies, including Snowflake and/or Kafka.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control and automation
  • Understanding of platform governance, security and operational best practices
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale production environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
  • Experience working in Agile environments
