Job description
A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Manager to lead the delivery, optimisation and ongoing evolution of its cloud-based data platform ecosystem.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead enterprise-scale platform initiatives spanning cloud, data, integration and DevOps technologies while managing high-performing technical teams and engaging with senior business stakeholders.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading platform delivery, operations and service management
- Driving platform modernisation, automation and scalability initiatives
- Establishing governance, engineering standards and best practices
- Ensuring platform reliability, performance and operational excellence
- Managing critical incidents, risks and technical dependencies
- Leading Agile delivery across multiple workstreams
- Driving monitoring, observability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing technical leadership across data, cloud and platform technologies
- Mentoring engineers and technical leads
- Working closely with architecture, engineering and business stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience leading Data Platform, Cloud, Integration or Platform Engineering teams
- Strong experience with modern data platform technologies, including Snowflake and/or Kafka.
- Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control and automation
- Understanding of platform governance, security and operational best practices
- Experience managing enterprise-scale production environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
