Job description
About the role: The Cloud Security Engineer designs, implements, maintains and continuously improves the security of our cloud environment. Reporting to the Head of Security Strategy & Governance, you partner up with the wider Information Security & Technology department to ensure secure operations, support colleagues with expert advice, and drive cloud security initiatives across the organization.
- Act as the cloud security SME, providing guidance on cloud technologies, architecture decisions, threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, risk acceptance, and remediation plans.
- Define, implement, and review secure configuration baselines for cloud services (e.g., policies, guardrails, and security settings) aligned to best practices.
- Implement, maintain and improve our cloud-based identity and access controls (least privilege, conditional access, privileged access, …).
- Implement, maintain and improve our cloud-based device management platforms.
- Provide advice and support to our wider Global IT organization when it comes to Security or IT incidents, troubleshooting and problem solving for cloud related topics.
- Contribute to cloud-related security governance, including automation, artificial intelligence and infrastructure-as-code.
- Contribute to our internal security awareness program when needed.
- Review designs, projects and roadmaps to align with our internal security strategy and security best practice.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deliver secure cloud solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of experience in cloud security, cloud engineering with a strong security focus, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure & M365 and modern device management (e.g., Intune) in an enterprise setting.
- Hands-on experience with cloud identity platforms and IAM best practices (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, conditional access, privileged access, MFA…).
- Ability to apply security-by-design principles in solution delivery (e.g., threat modeling, design reviews, and Zero Trust-aligned controls).
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong organization skills; able to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Ability to write documentation and present IT & Security topics in layman’s terms.
- Continuous-learning mindset; stays current on emerging threats, and technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
