Job description
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer, IT Support Engineer or Systems Engineer looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader in access and mobility technology, supporting cutting-edge parking and access control systems used by airports, hospitals, universities, shopping centres and major commercial facilities across Northern Ireland and Ireland. You’ll receive comprehensive training-including specialist overseas training-and develop expertise in industry-leading hardware, software and networking technologies while building a long-term career with an internationally recognised organisation. The Role As a System Engineer, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting advanced access control and parking systems at customer sites. Working independently and as part of a highly skilled team, you’ll diagnose technical issues, complete preventative maintenance and help deliver new system installations and upgrades., * Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and networking issues
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing
- Install, configure and commission new systems and equipment
- Support system upgrades and project installations
- Provide first-class technical support to customers
- Maintain accurate service reports and documentation
- Manage engineer stock and equipment
- Work closely with project, service and technical support teams
- Participate in a shared out-of-hours on-call rota
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background and excellent customer-facing skills. You’ll ideally have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Field Service, Systems or Technical Engineering role
- Good IT and networking knowledge
- Experience diagnosing hardware and software faults
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland, with occasional travel across Ireland
Desirable Experience
- Electrical or electromechanical engineering background
- CCTV, ANPR or access control systems experience
- Installation and commissioning experience
- Knowledge of databases or customer software applications
- Experience working with automation or intelligent building systems
