Job description

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for processing cash deposits, credits, and overpayments to the general ledger, apply payments through various methods, and assist with reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for accurately applying cash receipts, credits, denials, and adjustments while ensuring timely reconciliations across multiple entities.

Essential, key job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely application of payments and denials into the billing system via manual and electronic posting methods
  • Understand and process transactions for multiple subsidiaries
  • Review and correction (if applicable) of credits applied into the billing system
  • Download, post, and reconcile all remittance files
  • Process and reconcile all credit/debit card transactions
  • Post complex adjustments and create journal entries, as necessary and according to remittances
  • Daily reconciliation of totals posted
  • Follow up on payment issues and overpayments in a timely manner
  • Maintains productivity standards as established by management
  • Work closely with other employees, specifically the Billing and Collections teams

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft Excel?, * 1-3+ years of Cash Application experience

  • Strong Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
  • Experience with manual and electronic payment posting
  • Strong reconciliation experience including remittance files, credits, and payment discrepancies
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Billing and Collections teams
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • virtual/remote setting

Nice to Have

  • NetSuite ERP experience
  • Salesforce experience
  • Additional AR/AP experience
  • Experience in multi-entity finance environments
